Ratsample Mac 3D is a complete sample of one of the fonts in the Ratcaps/Ratkeys Mac keycaps font package from Quadrat Communications.
Ratcaps and Ratkeys were created to address the need for a good, utilitarian set of keycap fonts that would render well at text sizes from laser printers at 300 and 600 dpi. For this reason, the key and character shapes were kept clear and simple, and extensive manual hinting was added to get the best representation at typical text sizes. Although there are other keycap fonts available which look prettier, they do not print well at laser printer resolutions.
The total typeface package consists of two basic fonts -- Ratcaps Mac and Ratkeys Mac -- each in two versions: a "flat" version and a "3D" version, for a total of four fonts.
Ratcaps Mac contains representations of the alphabetic, numeric and symbol keys on a standard Macintosh keyboard.
Ratkeys Mac contains representations of the modifier, special function, F, cursor pointer and numeric keypad keys on an extended Mac keyboard, as well as mouse click and mouse drag representations for old and new style Apple mice, and a small assortment of basic dingbats, with alternate representations for the Command/Apple, Control, Option, Shift and Return keys.
The Ratsample Mac 3D font included in this archive is of the 3D version of Ratcaps Mac, in PostScript Type 1 format for the Macintosh. It contains the complete keyset of of Ratcaps Mac 3D plus four sample keys from Ratkeys Mac 3D. The sample keys are: Apple, Shift, alternate Shift and mouse click-and-drag, and are mapped to Option-a, Option-s, Shift-Option-S and Option-m respectively.

Cost of the font package if ordered from Canada is $40 Canadian. Orders from Canada must add 7% GST ($2.80) for a total of $42.80, and orders from Ontario must add a further 8% PST ($3.60) for a total of $46.40.
Cost of the font package if ordered from outside Canada is $40 US, payable in US funds.

The fonts are shipped in both PostScript Type 1 and TrueType formats, and are available for either DOS/Windows or the Macintosh. Ratcaps and Ratkeys are also available in versions for the PC keyboard. Fonts are supplied on 3.5 inch floppy diskettes only. TrueType fonts are read-only embeddable.
The standard Quadrat font licence permits use of the fonts on up to six computers kept at a single location, and their associated printers, plus temporary use at an outside service bureau. Please call for pricing if you require licensing for more than six computers.
